Mangalore: Bajpe airport gets another ISO certificate

The Bajpe (Mangalore) airport of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has received ISO 14001:2004 certification for environmental management system, according to M.R. Vasudeva, Director, AAI, Bajpe airport. The certificate is valid for three years from March 11, 2006. The environmental management system of the Bajpe airport was assessed by International Certification Services (Asia) Private Ltd. As per the assessment it was registered as complying with the requirements of the international standard ISO 14001:2004, he said in a release. Mr. Vasudeva said that the Bajpe airport is the first airport in South India to be certified for quality management system (ISO 9001:2000) and environmental management system. Of all airports in India, Bajpe airport is the second to get these two certificates. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
